Kratom Tea
Kratom Tea is an herbal tea, created from a native tree in Southeast Asia. Although illegal in several countries such as Thailand, Australia, and Malaysia it's popularity is growing quickly in many other countries. In America many bars dedicated to serving only kratom based drinks are being established. Kratom tea can be prepared in many different forms and varieties such as; Thai, Bali, Malay, Indo, and Sumatra. I costs around two dollars a gram within the United States.
The tea is praised highly for it's ability to act as both a stimulant or a sedative depending on the amount ingested. Kratom Tea has very similar effects to opiate based drugs. The effects however are said to be non-addictive, much more mellow compared to real opiates, and even helpful for opiate addicts in their recovery process. Kratom tea is now used by many in folk medicine to treat opiate addicts, chronic pain, ADHD, stress, and diarrhea. Many more enjoy the tea simply as a recreational drug, or occasional substitute for other teas and coffee.
The tea is said to be a good substitute for coffee to increase mental acuity. However, this effect is only achieved with smaller doses of kratom tea. In larger doses Kratom becomes a downer giving many people a fuzzy thick feeling; much like being drunk. Most servers recommend that a tolerance be built up for Kratom tea, and to stay under nine grams until the body has grown more used to the natural drug. Over dosing on the tea is said to bring on strong feelings of nausea as well as a decrease in normal functions.
